Best Of Grab

I’ve spent 8 months in Bangkok and have only included places to eat that actually have good quality, delicious food and great vibes. I feel very strongly about wasting my time and money visiting places that just look good on Instagram/TikTok, and we love to go out and enjoy a meal as an experience.

Starting with my favourite food tours in Bangkok, where you’ll be taken to all the best spots, and not have to worry about finding anything, or wasting time!

Best Food Tours In Bangkok

1) Chinatown Michelin Guide Tour

This one is such a fun way to explore Chinatown! You get a local expert guide who walks you through the busy streets, stopping along the way for 10-12 food tastings, including some dishes straight out of the Michelin Guide.

They keep you topped up with bottled water and refreshments throughout too, and if you go for the private group option, you even get a bottle of Thai beer per person. Your guide also shares loads of insights into Thai food culture and history, so you really get a feel for the stories and traditions behind everything you're eating. Such a great mix of food and culture in one! Book your tour here!

2) Tuk-Tuk Midnight Food Tour

If you come to Thailand and don't ride a tuk-tuk, you haven't really experienced Thailand! It's so much fun and such a great way to actually see the city. You’ll taste your way through typical Isan food from northeast Thailand, plus delicious chicken fried noodles and loads more, with 10+ tastings along the way.

You'll also pass some of the Old Town's landmarks, temples and flower markets and stop for a drink at a rooftop bar with a stunning view over the Chao Phraya River and Wat Arun lit up on the other side. It's all led by a fully licensed local food guide, and you get a cold Thai beer or non-alcoholic drink included too. The night wraps up just before midnight, with a tuk-tuk drop off back at your hotel in Bangkok city centre. Book your tour here!

3) White Lotus Thai Cooking Class

I loved this Thai cooking class with a market tour, it was so fun going around the markets and learning a little about the ingredients we were going to use, and the cooking itself was really easy to follow. We made traditional Thai recipes and even learnt a unique white lotus flower folding lesson!

I was honestly shocked with how delicious my meals turned out to be. It was such a fun and relaxing evening, and I even learnt new skills I can now use to cook these meals at home.

4) Lebua Sky Bar & Chinatown Street Food by Tuk Tuk

You'll hop on a private tuk-tuk and cruise through Bangkok, first stop is the State Tower, up to the 63rd floor for Sky Bar by Lebua, which is hands down the best view of Bangkok. The vibe up there is incredible and the drinks are so good, I had the Lavender cocktail without alcohol and it was really unique and refreshing. Watching the sun go down with a full 360 degree view is unreal, definitely bring your camera.

From there you'll carry on through the city at night, passing the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the Giant Swing and the Democracy Monument. Then it's onto Yaowarat (Chinatown) for a Thai set menu dinner right in the middle of the buzzing street energy, Pad Thai shrimp, deep-fried fish cakes and Tub Tim Krob (red ruby in coconut milk) for dessert. You'll even get to try lotus flower folding, such a lovely little cultural touch. Book your tour here!

5) Luxury 5 Star Dinner Cruise

Such a beautiful way to see Bangkok by night. It's a three deck boat with a rooftop deck that gives you great views of the sights and Chao Phraya river. You'll board at Asiatique The Riverfront, then go for a two hour cruise with an international buffet, seafood, sashimi, steak and more, plus free-flow soft drinks, tea and coffee, all while enjoying live music and a traditional Thai dance show.

Along the way you'll pass iconic landmarks like Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, Iconsiam and Rama VIII Bridge, all lit up at night. Such a relaxing, romantic way to take in Bangkok's skyline.Book your tour here!

Occasion / Evening Restaurants

1) Armenios Modern Grandma

When you step into Armenio's Modern Grandma it feels as if you've been transported straight to a little corner of Italy. Tucked into Bangkok's Sathon district, this highly rated Southern Italian restaurant is led by Chef Sam, who brings the traditional home-style cooking of Puglia to life in a cosy, intimate setting.

Order the: Golden oven-baked lasagne, which they’re known for! It’s crisp on top, and rich and meaty underneath, pair with the cheesy garlic bread fresh from the oven, and/or the soft and stone-baked pizza. Make sure to save room for the silky soft tiramisu.

2) The Meatchop Butcher & Spirits

This downlit gem is in the Silom area of Bangkok, and is perfect for date night. It’s a highly popular, contemporary steak bar, with a premium delicatessen style butcher shop and a lively open kitchen and cocktail bar. Whether you're planning a romantic evening or just craving a proper steak done right, The Meatchop Butcher & Spirits is definitely my favourite steakhouse in Bangkok.

Order the: Order the juicy, top quality steak or burger, and don’t leave without trying the unbelievable lemon tart.

3) Fatboy Izakaya

One of Bangkok's trendiest, high energy modern Japanese restaurants, this spot is known for its pop culture decor, playful vibe, and creative fusion dishes. We loved the energy from the staff and the fact you could see them preparing the dishes with a smile.

Order the: Deliciously juicy wagyu beef and wagyu beef gyozas, along with great sushi, and best garlic fried rice I've had.

4) Yankii Robatayaki & Bar

Located in Bangkok's the Phrom Phong neighborhood, Yankii Robatayaki & Bar is a super high energy, retro, futuristic Japanese restaurant and cocktail lounge. With two floors, it pairs the traditional Japanese fireside cooking style of robatayaki with old school hip hop music, neon lights, and interactive dining that keeps the energy going all night.

We sat at the counter to get the full experience, where they serve each dish on a long wooden paddel and shout the name of the dish in Japanese, very entertaining! Everything on the menu is very high quality and so delicious.

Order the: Salmon hand roll, red miso soup, Ohmi wagyu kushiyaki, Chilean seabass, and salmon salad.

5) Phra Nakhon

I never see anyone talk about this place, it’s tucked away in the corner of Capella Bangkok hotels lush gardens, right on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

Here they serve premium, authentic Thai food inspired by time honored family recipes. The atmosphere transitions seamlessly from a bright, breezy lunch spot to a romantic, dimly lit waterside setting, making it a spot worth visiting at any time of day.

Order the: ‘Gaeng Phed Ped Yang’, a duck yellow curry that's rich and full of flavor, the ‘Por Pia Sod’ which are fresh crab spring rolls, ‘Tom Kha Gai’ which is coconut milk chicken soup, ‘Khao Soi Nuea Or Gai’ which is a northern style coconut curry (my favourite!) and the Siam Murasaki cocktail (I had it as a mocktail)

6) Spire Rooftop & Bar

Spire Rooftop Bar is a newly opened, ultra-chic sky lounge on the 40th floor of the Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel. Overlooking the gorgeous greenery of Lumphini Park, it offers a stunning, multi-level 360-degree panorama of the Silom skyline.

The open-air terrace is built directly around the hotel's iconic golden spire and shifts from a relaxed, luxury lounge atmosphere in the early evening into a high-energy, late-night spot for cocktails. Whichever time you visit, the view over Lumphini Park is one of the best in the city.

Order the: Truffle fries, grilled chorizo, sea bass, and crab croquetas (all pictured)

7) Sirocco

Sirocco was voted 'World’s Best Rooftop Restaurant’ in both 2023 and 2024, and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant is 64 stories high at the top of the Lebua at State Tower hotel in Bang Rak, and shot to global fame after being featured in ‘The Hangover Part II’. This drew visitors from all over the world ever since to take the iconic ‘stairs’ photo from the film.

With the iconic golden globe and breathtaking 360-degree views of the Chao Phraya River, it’s genuinely hard to beat this view anywhere in the city, I mean look at that sunset!

Live jazz sets the mood, the service is exceptional, and the chef's tasting menu is not to be missed, every single course was outstanding. Definitely on the pricier side, so this would be perfect for a special occasion for a truly unforgettable night.

Order the: Chef’s tasting menu and lavender cocktail

8) Le Du Kaan

Le Du Kaan is Bangkok's first rooftop Thai restaurant, and it's every bit as good as it looks. Sitting 56 floors up in The Empire Tower in Sathorn, it pairs panoramic views of the city with contemporary Thai food, all led by Chef Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn, a Michelin-starred chef.

The space is split in two: a sleek, floor-to-ceiling glass dining room on one side, and a breezy open-air terrace on the other. Together they give you 360-degree views of the Bangkok skyline, including views of the Mahanakhon tower, all while a live house DJ keeps the sky bar buzzing.

Order the: Massaman Pae, a goat shank served in a rich massaman curry, and absolutely do not leave without trying the Ban Dook, this sweet, nutty dessert was unlike anything else I’d tried in Bangkok and the perfect way to end the night.

9) Chenin Restaurant & Wine Bar

Chenin is a popular wine bar and modern bistro, tucked away in Sukhumvit 31. It shifts from a bright, daytime brunch café into an intimate, candlelit night lounge, and it's also known for hosting elite global guest chef pop-ups on its dedicated top-floor "Chef Counter" space.

Order the: Diavola and the Reverse Nippon pizzas, lasagne verde and the rich, gooey sticky date pudding for dessert. The only downside is that portion sizes run quite small for the price, at 550 baht for a small pizza.. although the pizza itself was so good it didn't matter.

10) Beastie

The ambience of Beastie Steakhouse is dark, moody and sophisticated, like a private club. With an open kitchen and very attentive, friendly staff, it's easily one of our favourite spots in the city for atmosphere alone.

Order the: Juicy tenderloin steak cooked in chimichurri sauce, jacket potato, sorbet and the creamy New York cheesecake. You’ll also get complimentary bread with feta & honey! We really wanted to love the potato cubes, but felt they were a bit overdone. Everything else was delicious so we would definitely return, also note that it’s definitely on the pricier side.

Aesthetic Cafes

Next up are 15 of the most beautiful aesthetic cafes with gorgeous interiors, worth visiting for the vibes alone. As I mentioned above, these are the only places I visited over 8 months that I thought the food was actually worth the hype.

1) Hidden Bangkok Bistro

Hidden Bangkok Bistro is a real gem tucked away at the end of a quiet alleyway in Thon Buri. Its defining feature is a jaw-dropping, unobstructed view of the Giant Golden Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, sitting right across the water. Come early to beat the crowds and get the view to yourself for a bit because it gets super busy.

The cafe is a multi-tiered space: the first floor is a cafe and coffee spot, all specialty coffee, signature mocktails, and fresh cakes with a relaxed indoor canal view. The second floor is for Thai food at lunch and dinner, you'll need to order food to access this level.

The third floor is an open-air rooftop bar with craft beer, cocktails, and wine, and you'll need to order both food and alcohol to sit up there (but the view is actually way better on the second floor)

The views of the river and temple are genuinely breathtaking, and even though you know the Buddha will be enormous, it's hard to comprehend how big it really is in person. You can also grab a 30-minute boat ride for 500 baht for two, which comes with a drink or dessert included, a perfect way to experience it from the water.

Order the: Slightly crispy, rich cashew chicken with rice and thank me later, it was genuinely my favourite cashew chicken in Bangkok.

2) After the Rain

After the Rain Coffee & Gallery is a super popular cafe around 45-60 minutes west of central Bangkok in Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom. It's a little further out, but such a wholesome place, and genuinely worth the trip. It's tucked inside a lush, tropical fruit orchard, with a winding maze of quiet, palm-lined canals, where you can hop into small paddle boats for a scenic cruise through the greenery.

There's no entry fee, the cafe just has a simple minimum spend policy to order any food or drink item at the counter with a minimum spend of 200 THB per person. Your receipt doubles as your entry token, giving you a queue number for a free paddle boat ride.

It's delicious and cheap, but the wait can be long, so go early to make the most of it and visit the swings inside the cafe, hanging over the water for a perfect photo op while you wait.

I would say I came here more for the vibes than the food, but we did enjoy what we ordered!

Order the: Chocolate waffles with caramalised banana and the lime smoothie were delicious, and chicken salad was nice and good quality, but nothing to write home about.

3) Yellowlane

Yellow Lane is a quaint brunch cafe, cocktail bar, and creative community hub tucked away in Bangkok's Ari neighbourhood. It’s a hidden-away sanctuary and is super popular among digital nomads and local creators due to the wellness space, complete with showers, a sauna, a steam room, and hot and cold plunge pools.

For 500 baht, you can get unlimited use of their whole wellness setup, and access to the private courtyard. You'll also get complimentary fruit-infused or electrolyte water to keep you refreshed throughout your visit, and you can order food to the wellness courtyard, so you can easily spend the whole day there. It's a really lovely and quiet way to reset, whether before or after your meal.

The kitchen serves a variety of beautifully plated health dishes, with extensive vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options throughout the menu. You can expect brunch favourites like smashed avocado on toast, loaded chicken sandwiches, acai bowls, and fresh cold-pressed juices, along with a great variety of healthy options and sweet treats. By night, the menu shifts into refined Western dinners, including steaks, lamb, and customised house cocktails, best enjoyed under the beautiful garden lights.

Order the: Avocado toast with fruit and salad, iced coffee, iced chocolate and the lemon cheesecake icecream!

4) Natura

Natura Café is so peaceful, it’s an eco-friendly green oasis hidden within a 100-year-old heritage lychee orchard in Bangkok's Chom Thong district. A little further out of the city, but it feels like you’re stepping into an actual fairytale.

Sit in the riverside hut for lunch and watch the long-tail boats drift by, or hop on one yourself, straight from the café's own private dock. The menu highlights organic, locally sourced, garden-to-table Thai flavours alongside home-style desserts.

Beyond the food, you can book an afternoon scenic longtail canal cruise straight from the café's dock, taking you directly to the Giant Golden Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen. The space also hosts fun-looking weekend workshops, including traditional Thai flower garland making and organic tie-dye, making it easy to turn a simple lunch into a full day of slow, meaningful exploration.

Order the: Pomelo salad, mango sticky rice, pandan dessert and the mango and lychee smoothies.

5) Dolcetto Southern Italian Cafe & Bakery

Dolcetto is a sweet, coastal-themed Italian café and bakery in the heart of central Bangkok. It replicates a sunny Southern Italian summer holiday, with charming Amalfi coast-inspired interiors, colorful tiles, and an outdoor garden terrace shaded by decorative lemon trees that genuinely makes you feel like you've landed in a little slice of Italy.

Beyond the café menu, Dolcetto also doubles as a proper Italian pantry, stocked with an inviting selection of cured meats and cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, freshly baked sourdough, and other imported Italian staples, perfect for putting together your own taste of Italy at home.

Order the: Fig, honey and pistachio open toast, seafood pasta and seabass. Which are all light and satisfying, but the lemon tart is absolutely divine, we also loved the warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie.

6) Pref

Préf Café & Bar is a chic, minimalist cafe in Sathon that blends Japanese and French styles. The space shifts from a bright, photo-ready all-day casual dining spot by day into a lively cocktail lounge by night. The space has a clean, architectural aesthetic with large arch windows, an expansive outdoor lawn, a scenic outdoor pool and elegant meeting room.

We ate here a few times and wished we went back more to try their other dishes because every time, everything was so delicious.

Order the: Truffle ravioli, avocado toast, and pancakes with fruit. Pair with a jasmine tea or iced caramel macchiato.

7) Franca Modern Italian & Fine Steaks

Franca is a chic, italian restaurant in central Bangkok's lively Asoke district. Designed with a warm, romantic vibe, the space also has a seperate aesthetic pink seating area in the gardens.

Order the: Heavenly lasagne and truffle arancini, seriously, it’s worth the visit for these alone. They also bring out a delicious and generously sized complimentary focaccia, served warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, a lovely touch before your mains even arrive.

8) Ryoku Cafe

Ryoku Cafe is a Japanese, whimsical, flower themed café with a tranquil environment, decorated with beautiful florals. It’s known for its ultra fluffy, Osaka style soufflé pancakes, specialty matcha, and comforting brunch options.

Order the: Soufflé pancakes, light and delicious! Strawberry with mascarpone and fresh fruit was our favourite.

9) Brooks Brunch & Bar Ari

Brooks Brunch & Bar is a cosy brunch spot in the popular Ari area with a sunlit café downstairs and a moody, sophisticated cocktail and wine lounge with live acoustic music in the evening. The Ari area is great to explore too, as there are so many cute spots like this one tucked throughout the neighborhood. Side note: make sure to visit the little donut shop nearby called ‘Donut Disturb’ they sell very cheap and delicious donuts, get the Lemon cream!

Order the: Steak sandwich, which comes with a delicious onion soup on the side for dipping, and the deep-fried jalapeños paired with a pistachio latte.

10) Fran’s All Day Brunch & Greens

Fran's has three locations across Bangkok, we visited the Sathorn branch, an elegant, European-style cafe wrapped in a lush green glasshouse. We turned up around midday without a reservation and had to wait for an hour, so we gave our Line contact (Thailand's popular communication app) and took a walk around Lumphini park during the wait, which is a short walk away.

Order the: Juicy chicken and mash, carbonara, steak and sweet potato fries. Honestly everything we tried was delicious and great quality, but you must try the sticky toffee pudding and the apple and berries crumble, both are worth saving room for and genuinely some of the best desserts we've had in Bangkok.

11) Catalaya Estate

Cataleya Estate is a Renaissance-inspired restaurant and boutique bed and breakfast in Bangkok's Phra Khanong neighborhood. Walking in, the interior genuinely feels like stepping into a Renaissance painting, with round brick archways, a grand marble spiral staircase, a sunlit multi-floor open patio, and beautiful antique decor everywhere you look.

They also regularly host a communal workshop series called "Canvas & Calm," a mindful weekend painting and social event centered around a large shared table, priced at 550 THB per person including materials and a drink.

Order the: Best fish and chips we've had in Thailand, along with rich, flavorsome chicken pasta and cheesy garlic bread.

Casual Lunch Spots

Below are our favorite spots for a casual, relaxed lunch. They might have simpler settings, but they hold their own against any fine dining experience.

1) Maru Maru Pizza

Maru Maru Pizza is a small and super popular pizza joint and vinyl lounge tucked inside a quiet alleyway in Bangkok's Phra Khanong area. It mixes a cool, effortless workshop aesthetic with incredible food and curated music; think modern soul, Japanese jazz, and Balearic rhythms.

You'll need to book well in advance because this place is so popular. We got lucky and walked in around 2pm on a Saturday, managing to grab the only available spot at the bar rather than a table.

Order the: Diavola pizza, which was meaty, full of flavor, and made with fresh dough, and you can see them making it in the wood-fired oven. Plus the truffle fries.

2) Bianca Italian Restaurant

Bianca’s has high quality ingredients imported straight from Italy, the kitchen emphasises fresh, generous portions and capturing the lively spirit of a true Italian kitchen. Everything we've ordered from Bianca has been exceptional quality, and definitely takes one of the top spots.

Order the: Roasted chicken, ragu bolognese, carbonara, salami piccante pizza, arancini tricolore, truffle arancini (my favourite), lasagna, truffle pasta, and chicken parmigiana, honestly, it's very hard to go wrong here.

3) Sarnies

Sarnies is an exceptionally popular Singaporean born café that has firmly cemented itself as a cornerstone of Bangkok's trendy, artisanal brunch and specialty coffee culture.

The legendary original location (pictured) is housed inside a meticulously restored, 150 year old historic boat repair shop, with rustic brick walls and an industrial chic aesthetic.

Order the: They offer a very fresh and delicious variety of sandwiches, but we also loved the English style breakfast, where you choose your own items, and the smoked beef brisket. They also offer a variety of delicious looking desserts, cookies and various jars of treats.

4) Bartels Sourdough Sandwiches, Coffee & Juicery

Bartels is hands down the best sandwich spot in Bangkok, I don’t want to hear otherwise. This Scandinavian inspired, artisanal sandwich shop bakes fresh sourdough in their open kitchen all day long. The space has a work friendly atmosphere that makes it easy to linger over a coffee or get some work done.

Order the: Ham and cheese, the Cubano, and the Bartels club, but our absolute favourite is the serrano and stracciatella (which we had so many times over 8 months) We haven't tried the cakes yet, but they look exceptional.

5) Kim Jeong Grill

Kim Jeong Grill is a trendy, tongue in cheek Korean barbecue steakhouse, think cheeky dictator chic meets K-pop playlist. With bright neon lighting, up-beat chart hits, and premium cuts of meat, all served with a wink at North Korea's most extra leader.

The location is hidden down a residential alleyway, with a military camo theme, private dining rooms, and a dedicated karaoke room downstairs. Since there's no parking on site, guests can simply call the restaurant to be picked up from the main street in a custom military style golf cart, quite the entrance before you've even sat down.

Order the: The sauces, meat, and side dishes are delicious throughout, but we especially liked the kimchi soup and the lean cuts of beef we tried, both full of flavor. The chicken, however, wasn't a favourite for us.

6) Khua Khun Puk

Krua Khun Puk is a busy street side Thai restaurant located right in the heart of Bangkok's vibrant Sukhumvit district. It’s famous for serving authentic, flavorful Thai food at incredibly low street food prices. It's easy, quick, and delicious, though it gets super busy, so expect a bit of a wait

Order the: We loved the Thai cashew chicken (Gai Pad Met Mamuang), the Thai holy basil stir fry with beef (Pad Kra Pao), and the spring rolls.

7) Stoke

Stoke is a modern american comfort food restaurant and lively wine bar located in the heart of the Thonglor neighborhood, tucked down a side street.

Order the: Chicken dumplings, which were comforting and delicious, along with the chicken wings. So many items on the menu looked really tempting, however the steak fell a little short in comparison, just not that well seasoned or exciting, but it was still nice. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Best Of Grab

1) Easy Health

Easy Health is one of our favourite restaurants in Bangkok. If you're living in Thailand for long periods of time, Thai food isn't always the healthiest choice, but with Easy Health, you get a healthy alternative that still has the same Thai flavours.

It’s a highly rated, organic, health focused café, popular among digital nomads, athletes, and busy professionals, it provides full macro transparency, with calories, protein, carbs, and fat labeled on every item, alongside a strict policy of zero added sugar, no commercial frozen foods, and zero MSG.

Order the: Cashew chicken, panang curry, curd cheese pancakes, banana peanut butter pancake, and dark chocolate nuts, all fresh and delicious. You can tell they're healthy by the taste, but they genuinely taste great, unlike a lot of health cafés out there.

2) Easy Burger

Without doubt, this is the best smash burger in Bangkok, we tried a lot of burgers but especially loved its signature thin, crispy edged beef patties, and incredibly soft, golden potato buns. The kitchen uses zero mass produced imports, opting instead for organic, pasture raised, 28 day dry aged local beef sourced straight from Bangkok's premier butcher, Sloane's.

The fries are delicious and the chicken nuggets are really tasty and good quality, both well worth ordering alongside the burger.

3) Gees Cookies

Gee's cookies are THE best cookies in Bangkok. They’re soft, rich, and slightly crispy all at once. They’re such great quality, a great size and honestly the most delicious treat.

You'll find them on the 6th floor of ICONSIAM, or at their smaller grab and go counter on Soi Sukhumvit 24 in Khlong Toei. They bake fresh batches daily, with more than 6 flavours to choose from, including Nutella, Pistachio, Lotus Biscoff, Kinder Bueno and more.

Order the: Dark chocolate with sea salt (their most popular and my favourite) Nutella, Pistachio (with proper pistachio spread, not that synthetic stuff!) Lotus Biscoff, and Kinder Bueno.

4) Lucky Panda

Lucky Panda is an American Chinese restaurant, originally as a delivery-only concept for people who couldn't be bothered to cook, before expanding into proper dine-in spots too.

Order the: Salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried noodles, fried rice, and their hot and sour soup.

5) Ippudo Ramen

Ippudo is my favourite ramen spot, it’s well priced and has a delicious range of options to choose from. You'll find locations at Central Embassy, Emporium, and ICONSIAM, their signature is the classic Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, made from pork bone simmered for over 18 hours for that rich, creamy broth, paired with thin noodles and pork chashu.

Order the: Shoyu chicken ramen, Shiromaru Motoaji ramen, Karaka-Men and chicken gyozas.

Here are some more options from Grab I don’t have photos for, but they’re all super delicious and great quality:

  • Fam time steak & Pasta - We loved the chicken, mash & rich gravy, good price too.

  • Breakfast story - Everything. The potatoes, crispy bacon and pancake breakfast is amazing.

  • Mama pasta & Pizza - Both pasta and pizza equally delicious

  • Beast smash - Unbelievable smash burgers

  • Beast and butter - Great burgers, pizza and philly cheese steak!
